In line with the most recent Government advice, and in consultation with Police, Council and Public Health, we have opened the Boltz complex as a "Non-Sexual" bar. Please read the following information to see what we're doing to minimise the risks to you and our staff, and to ensure you are not turned away when trying to attend. A full risk assessment has been carried out on site and we are doing everything in our powers to make your trip as safe as we can. This page information was last updated on the 24th Sept 2020.
Venues following COVID-19 Secure guidelines can host more than 6 people in total, but no one should visit in a group of greater than 6 (unless you are all from the same household or support bubble). When you visit one of these places, such as a pub, shop, leisure venue, restaurant or place of worship you should:
- follow the limits on the number of other people you should meet with as a group (it will be illegal to be in group of more than six from outside of your household or support bubble)
- avoid mingling with anyone outside the group you are with, even if you see other people you know
- provide your contact details to the organiser so that you can be contacted if needed by the NHS Test and Trace programme
When drinking with people you do not live with (and who are not in your support bubble), you must keep to the wider rules on group sizes: you must only attend these places in groups of up to 6 people. There can be multiple groups of six people in a place, provided that those groups do not mingle.
Businesses selling food or drink (including cafes, bars, pubs and restaurants), social clubs, casinos, bowling alleys, amusement arcades (and other indoor leisure centres or facilities), funfairs, theme parks, adventure parks and activities, and bingo halls, must be closed between 10pm and 5am.
In licensed premises, food and drink must be ordered from, and served at, a table.
Our Current Strategy
Our aim is to provide a safe and friendly environment for men and fetishists to relax and enjoy each others company without all the normal issues of a bar full of vanilla customers over hearing conversations, breaking rules as they get drunk and crossing boundaries we don't want crossed. We want you to be able to relax, enjoy the company within your bubbles, spot potential playmates for the future, all within the confines of current government restrictions.
Please arrive at the club in your bubbles of no more than 6. Please be patient at the door and reception as we get you in, observing social distancing, and ensuring we have all details on our membership system to allow for Test and Trace should it be required.
Once inside the building, please select a table to sit at, bearing in mind we will be asking you to stay at that table for the evening. If in a bubble of 2, please select a small seater option. If in a larger bubble then select a larger table.
We want you to be able to relax and enjoy the evening. Chat within your bubble, openly about any subject. You may be overheard, but unlike normal bars, you're not likely to shock anyone within Boltz! A lot of the Boltz experience is based around finding potential play partners for the future. This is all we can currently provide for you, so please keep your eyes open for people that may be of interest to you at some point in the future. If you spot someone, and would like to be put in contact with them, please write down your names and telephone numbers on slips of paper provided, and then ask a member of staff to pass the details on for you. We will also not be allowing guests to get too drunk, as this leads to issues with social distancing, and should we need to, we will be asking people to call it a night if they become too loud. Sorry, but we need to keep you. and others as safe as we can.
If using the communal smoking areas, and also the toilets, please be very aware of social distancing rules and do not stay in these areas for longer than is necessary.
We will be shutting at 10pm. Last orders will be called at 9.30 and we need to empty the club by 10pm. Please note, we are not allowed to let you take drinks outside the club, nor are we allowed to let you carry on drinking in our outside communal areas.
Attending the club
Please do not attend the club if you are showing any signs of Covid 19. Temperature, dry cough, loss of taste or smell, etc are all early signs and you should not be mixing with others. Equally, if you have had Covid and now recovered, please abstain from visiting for 30 days after you were cleared.
We will be undertaking random temperature checks on arrival at the club. It is not an accurate indicator of Covid, but will allow us to refuse entry to anyone showing an abnormally high reading. Please don'tbe upset over this if it does happen to you. Accept the reading, go home and self-isolate until you know your health situation for certain, we'd suggest via an NHS test. .
We are now obliged to ask you to wear face coverings around the club, except whilst at your table drinking, therefore please use a face covering if visiting toilets, and on arrival and departure. People are strongly encouraged to wear face coverings in any other enclosed public spaces where there are people they do not normally meet. We will let you know here if this advice changes. If you have a visible or medical condition then you are exempt. You also do not need to prove anything to us.
All members must try to maintain a 2 metre, or 7-foot distance from each other, unless members of the same household. We will be sticking to 2 metres for the time being as we have the room to do this, and it makes it safer for you and our staff. No sexual encounters are permitted between members. The rule of six will be enforced, please do not arrive in larger groups, and do not form larger groups in the club. During the evening you must remain in your group, and moving between groups is not allowed.
Interaction of a sexual nature is not permitted between attendees. If you leave the club to play elsewhere, we will not allow you back into the building.
Antibac Hand Cleaner and Sanitiser Cleaning
Antibac is strategically placed around all areas of the building. Please use as you walk past, especially before and after using the toilets, Staff will be cleaning all areas more frequently utilising anti - Covid Sanitiser, but your help with personal hygiene is appreciated.
We will be operating table service only from now on, please do not approach the bar area. If you wish to order drinks, please catch the eye of one of the staff members, and we will approach, take your order, and return with the drinks. If you must use cash, please try to pay the correct amount, reducing the need for staff to sort change for you. Please expect the bar staff to take longer to serve you due to these measures, so please pre-empt the need for drinks if you can, and order. Please remember our bar staff are there to assist you, verbal abuse will not be tolerated.
Glasses and Bottles
Please try to retain your own glass for your drinks throughout the evening. If drinking from a bottle, please dispose of it once finished in one of the bins around the building. Please do not leave drinks unattended as they will be removed by staff.
All playrooms are currently out of use.
Test and Trace
We aim to assist with Test and Trace as much as we possibly can and with that in mind, we now display NHS Test and Trace QR Codes at the entrance to Boltz. If you wish to use these to detail your visit to us, please feel free to do so. We are also maintaining our own membership database which gives us information relating to visits, and how to contact you should we need to. If chatting to others at the club for considerable amounts of time, please ensure you know at least their first names. If we as a club contact you with a potential Covid outbreak, you need to be able to tell us who you were in close proximity to during the evening. We will be changing our T&C's to allow us as a club to contact you should it turn out you might be infected. We would ask anyone who visits the club, and then contracts Covid within 14 days to please contact us immediately so we in turn can contact other club attendees. This will give you two ways of being kept informed if at risk, the Governments Test and Trace route, and our internal method which is a little more discrete.
